Job Summary

As a key contributor to my family's tax business, I served as the Marketing Manager where I initiated and oversaw integral operational improvements and innovative growth strategies that significantly boosted the company's revenue. Over the course of four years, my hands-on experience allowed me to grow from simply assisting in the family business to playing a pivotal role in its transformation and success.I was instrumental in implementing a holistic digital transformation across the organization.

How I contributed

Integrating the current file system with the cloud so that we could move our process completely online and avoid the building clutter in the office.

Cold outreach to build awareness for the business, which turned into strengthening the local SEO for visibility, integrating analytics, and full digital marketing set up.

Building the online form system that allowed our CPA to complete taxes from their laptop without needing to be in the office. Customers simply dropped the needed documents off to the office or our site, and we took care of the rest.

My Roles

One of my primary responsibilities involved integrating a system that interconnected all company computers, streamlining the processing of paperwork and error corrections. This technological initiative led to enhanced efficiency and productivity, fostering a more cohesive and effective team.Recognizing the value of strategic marketing, I initiated the incorporation of effective paid marketing campaigns that significantly increased our client base. By carefully monitoring and optimizing these campaigns, I was able to ensure maximum return on investment and drive continuous business growth.Leveraging my knowledge gained from studying marketing in college and reading various growth marketing books, I brought a competitive edge to our business. I implemented a successful customer referral program inspired by growth tactics used by companies like Dropbox and Robinhood. This strategy offered incentives to existing clients, encouraging them to refer new clients to us, resulting in a substantial increase in our customer base. In just under two years, these strategies aided in growing the company's revenue from 70K to 240K.

To bolster our online presence, I assumed the responsibility of website creation and regular blog postings, thereby enhancing our brand's visibility and credibility. Furthermore, I took the lead in hosting business events, thus fostering strong relationships with existing and potential clients.As a team leader, I managed two employees, the front desk attendant and the bookkeeper, fostering a supportive environment that encouraged teamwork and personal development. Additionally, my role included handling tax processing for dependents, primarily students, a task that showcased my attention to detail and thorough understanding of tax regulations.Overall, my multifaceted role as a Marketing Manager in the family business involved strategic planning, technological advancements, and team management, all while keeping an eye on revenue growth. My capacity to identify growth opportunities and my dedication to learning and applying new marketing strategies were fundamental to the exponential growth and success of the business.
